Jia Xiang Mian 家乡糆@ Jalan Tangkerak

Back to 2 decades ago, when I was 6 years old or even smaller, bro and i were waiting inside the car with dad, and mum went to order “hometown noodles” for us as supper. The cloud was huge and the queue was long to wait. After that dad will drive us home and attack!! Mum even snapped a photo of my “Thiam Chiak” face. But when I get a little older, the chef suffered from nose cancer and the restaurant was closed down.Years after, mum spotted the chef at this small hut when we pass by Jalan Tengkerak. After few times passing by,we decided to give a try. Now, it is like the olden days where we have our regular supper with the “hometown noodles”.Just that Bro and I are working in KL now and only back on weekend, but this does not deter us from gaining back the familiar taste and the memories.

家乡糆(hometown noodles),with or without an egg. Most of us prefer the one with egg but my mum.

Sweet and sour pork ribs with yam ring. Love theirs cause cause none have the same taste as this. He uses turmeric to marinate the pork rib ,hence, it gives a extra fragrant and bland nicely with the sweet and sour sauce. Although is from rib part but they have very little of bone.

Their vege is always on the downside. There is still of room of improvement. Another recommended dish is the “kung poh” prawn mantis but is not available at most of the time. Sad….
